When I was working with [Open Robotics] I came across the wonderful world of magnetic sensors. These cool little chips blew my mind at the time. They come in a bunch of different styles, but I was really drawn to the rotory encoders. They opened up a infinte rotation on the cheap. that is, if I could figure out how to easily mount them. That inspired me to design and build a magnetic potentiometer. This simple 3D printed case and tiny PCB was my fisrt attempt at mounting a magnetic encoder.
